XINGU : Black Beer
This was a little treat courtesy of the Flying Saucer in Memphis TN. This beer is BLACK. When I say black, I mean it. Very dark beer that is very flat with almost no activity. The beer has a great taste and is not as think as I thought that it would be. I would think that anyone that enjoys a good dark beer would love this.

Is this stuff from Brazil? I think it's what I had a couple weekends ago at a Christmas party. And it went down very, very smoothly. Either one of those punk college kids put something in my drink or their is something behind all that black because I was sicker than a dog the next day, and I didn't drink anywhere near enough for a hangover. But as black as this beer is, it didn't even taste dark to me, and I like dark beer. It was still good though. Of course, now I'm hesitant to drink it again since I was so sick after it.

I didn't even know that this blog was still active. Wow. I really REALLY need to update it. I have tons of pictures of new beer that I could have been flooding this page with. Must get on it.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree. I was expecting something much "thicker" than what i got. It was so black it looked like I would have to get a fork and knife to cut and chew it, but it was waaaay more mellow than I thought it would be.
When I get a dark beer it is usually a stout of some kind. So chocolate, coffee, etc. are usually present, but this was just kind of "there". Not bad, but not as memorable as I thought it would be. And you are correct about where it is brewed. It's from Brazil.
